UPDATE 2019: Sean Davison was arrested in Cape Town for assisting in the suicides of three men in unbearable pain. Sean received a 3-year House Arrest and an eight year suspended sentence. In 2006, Sean Davison cared for his terminally ill mother, Dr. Pat Davison (a psychiatrist), during the final three months of her life. Sean Davison has a doctorate in microbiology from the University of Otago in New Zealand, and is a Professor of Biotechnology at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. He oversees the DNA Forensics Laboratory and has initiated a project to prove the innocence of people wrongfully convicted of crimes, by using DNA testing that was not used at the time of their conviction. Sean spent the final three months of his mother's life with her, beginning a journey of twists and turns that continue to impact him on a daily basis.
