About the Author

Kurt Henning is a music director/conductor in the Chicago area. He earned his Bachelor's in Double Bass Performance and his Master's in Orchestral Conducting at Northwestern University. He conducted the orchestra and bands at Loyola University Chicago from 1990 - 2000, and then took his baton into local community theatre venues. After eight years and 17 shows, he decided to switch artistic gears and focus on writing, working on a memoir and a screenplay (still working!). Upon deciding to return to conducting for community theatre, the thought of writing a book on the subject came to mind, and this is the result. Kurt is also the proud father of two boys, runs a business as a full-time piano tuner/technician, and is an aviation structural mechanic with the Navy Reserve.
