Kate, a young American woman studying to become a Master of Wine, decides to travel to Burgundy, to the vineyard estate that has been in her family for generations, to focus on her studies and spend a season in France. There she will unexpectedly discover a lost diary, a distant relative, a hidden cellar, a secret that her family has kept since World War II, and also her first love. As she learns more about her family, the line between Nazi resistance and collaboration is blurred, leading Kate to find the answers to two crucial questions: Who exactly did her family help during the difficult years of the war? And what happened to six valuable bottles of wine?
