Description

It is 1774 and War is on the horizon. The drums of the Revolution are sounding in the streets of Boston. Fourteen years old Zak Allerton, caught up in the cry for freedom, runs off to join the Sons of Liberty.
Follow the story of the greatest Revolution in history as Zak describes it first hand in his journal, capturing the spirit of the revolution.
Zak, born Isaac Norris Allerton, describes his account of the emerging Revolution as he runs off to meet the Liberty Boys, joins the revolution at The Boston Tea Party, again at Concord and Lexington, meets Paul Revere, Sam Adams and fights alongside his hero, Dr. Preston when he is killed at Breed's Hill. He volunteers to take part in the Henry Knox expedition to bring the cannons from Fort Ticonderoga to free Boston Harbor from the British blockade. During the Battle of Monmouth Courthouse he falls wounded, is left for dead, destined to rot in the British prison ships if he lives. Alexander Duncan Ross, a First Lieutenant from the 16th Queens Lancers finds his journal on the field of battle and begins to write from his own point of view, the English side of the conflict.
As he reads Isaac's journal Alexander discovers that he admires the courage of the Patriots with their struggle for freedom. At the end of the war Duncan returns the journal to Isaac's family where it finally comes back into the hands of its owner.
Zak tells his tale of war, the glory and all its horrors that both sides faced in America's Great Fight for Freedom.
